I'm curious to discover what sorts of misconceptions people have experienced with RFID?

I'll give you an example:
When I got tagged I had a friend who asked me "Doesn't that mean the CIA/FBI/NSA etc will be able to track you wherever you go?"
I had to explain that the (3.13 x 13mm EM4102) tags had a read range of around two inches, so as long as they had a reader within a couple of inches of my hands, yes it was possible to track me.
It took them a minute or two before they realised that in order to track me they'd have to be standing next to me! LOL

I'd had more sensible questions about setting off security alarms in shops, airports etc and about MRI scanners ripping the tag from my hand or wiping the chip.  I've educated those curious.

I know our projects are serious stuff, but how about adding something a little light-hearted?

I've had to explain to quite a few people that if someone wants to go through the trouble of obtaining a tag ID, cloning it, and using it to get into my car/house/whatever, they're better off just throwing a brick through the window, as it would be less work.
