   Welp, you will be happy to know that it's finally working! :) It was wired correctly a few times... do you know what the problem was? The damn serial cable going to the pc was bad! I took a chance and bought a new one tonight thinking *maybe* that will do it and bam, came right up!

Now I can finalyyyyyyyyy get to what i know, some vb coding :) Thanks so much Amal for all yoru help and patience. It's truly appreiciated!
