Hello : I just start doing my final project(RFID), and i had bought the reader from Phidget, can someone else tell me how to start to test on this reader. and how to activate the external LED from the PhidRFID reader? THANK YOU

You'll want to download the RFIDTest application and source code from here: http://www.rfidtoys.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3&PN=1
Check the Phidgets RFID module documentation for info about how to control the outputs (RF enable, internal LED, external LED, 5V output). |

In the documataion there only mention the external LED output with 5V at 20mA but did tell you how to test it?So can you please tell me how to test it? THANK YOU |

How to test the external LED output? Well, you'll have to get an LED and hook it up to the output... then write some software or use some found in the download section and turn that output on... the LED should light up. If it doesn't, then something is wrong or you have your LED connected up backwards. I suppose if you don't have an LED on hand you could just use a volt meter to check the LED output.
Also, the LED and 5V output are two separate outputs... don't hook your LED to the 5V output unless you want to burn it out (or if you have one of those super bright high-output white LEDs that can take 5V). |
